Our Amicus Horizon repair saga
#imay #onereddrop 1066ha.24th.02.2011If you are a frequent visitor to this site you will know how hard we have fought in an effort to get Amicus Horizon or Booker and Best to carry out even simple repairs to our home over the past 6 years.They even failed to install a simple extractor fan properly and after three years - five attempts - at least five demands from a council health and safety officer that still has`nt happened.The pictures here show the quality of their bricklaying efforts. We have not complained about this just asked for a repair but straight away Amicus Horizon have responded to our request via Booker and Best Hastings builder by claiming that this is just a two foot wall, the truth is it is approx 6ft x 30ft. I will get Lisa to make a video later (it gives a clearer picture) because some of these bricks you can move with one finger so where you see cracks the reality is its not as safe as it looks. Amicus Horizons foul mouthed surveyor Ron Grimmer stated that I am the type of person who would create a deliberate accident out of building errors as you can see I am not because I have not thrown myself at the wall or arranged for it to collapse on top of me I have merely asked for a repair. Once again Lisa will take the video camera through the entire house and show the damage done to our home by Booker and Best and Amicus Horizon so that everyone can see that if I wanted to fake a fall there is no shortage of opportunities but the simple truth is I have enough knocks and falls I`m not seeking any extra`s.Amicus Horizon employees make our life very uncomfortable and their partners Hastings council assist by arranging interference with benefits and adaptations. We had a builder look at this 5 month old wall and his diagnosis was that the mix is wrong, he said that the wall is bowed, unsafe and we should be careful not to lean on it, thats not us faking an accident or a complaint that is the smple plain truth.

I personally would`nt know the difference between good brickwork and bad and I doubt that Amicus Horizon do as for Booker and Best the thought of them doing repairs to this is a worry having experienced so many of their bodge ups over the past 6 years and also having seen the horror stories in other tenants houses. The only support we get from Hastings Borough council is benefit interference and law breaking delays. We have now been waiting years for our adaptations. Booker and Best Ltd came out this morning to fix our wall (they said they had a cancellation) Nice blokes as usual and they said they`ve done what they can but the wall really needs taking down and rebuilding, I can`t really say whether I care if its rebuilt or not because I cannot get to the garden beyond the wall anyway because its too inaccessible but so long as it is not going to collapse on anyone thats the main thing. At least it saves me making another video.

Hastings council - Amicus Horizon
We have "another Survey" on the 03rd March so still no sign of how long we cannot use the three rooms they asked us to clear in November 2010 for the work they are delaying so well and surprise surprise, I was informed yesterday afternoon that my remaining benefits are being reviewed and they have even made an appointment for me at the job centre lol. That will be a very productive afternoon, I will continue to let them do as they please and I certainly would`nt mind a job. Train driver would be good, who wants to stop at Victoria anyway? I could take them straight into the city. Hastings councillor Jeremy Birch claims to be against the cuts and for Equality for vulnerable residents yet I am a vulnerable resident and as you can see just from the contents of this site he is happy for me to live and sleep in one room, no bathroom, no toilet and he is happy that my benefits should be suspended on the instructions of his junior J.Saxby. Hastings council is a labour council, everything that has happened to us here has happened under his labour council. It is so easy to get the impression that he works for Amicus Horizon rather than the people of Hastings. He ducked his head in the sand when our children were defrauded (not just mine 34 others as well) and, then again when they were illegally put out on the street and barred from Hastings community centres on the specific instructions of David Chidwick (not just mine 34 others as well) and thats how he works, head in the sand he knows absolutely nothing about the needs of the people he pretends to represent and he talks a load of grit.

#onereddrop we returned home this evening to a message from Amicus Horizon saying that we will be getting another survey next week (3) and that when that is complete we will be given a grant form to complete and then it will go off for approval. I suppose I suppose considering my high blood pressure I should just go along with all of this nonsense but I expect I will tell them that that was all done and approved last October/November it is sad to see so many able bodied and lucid people on the dole who really could do these jobs so much better.We had a great advert sent to us off of the internet today it reads; wanted Adult Social Care Assessor no experience necessary lol

Below is quite a long document. we were justifiably seeking to challenge the legality of Hastings Borough Councils behaviour but we had a document missing that Hastings Borough Council are obliged by law to provide us with within 40 days of our request. Hastings Borough Council decided to illegally withhold that and other documents which placed us in a position where we became "out of time" (Hastings Borough Councils usual ploy) to enter our complaint so below is some of our appeal. #imay #onereddrop We will be back out again tomorrow thanks to the magic of the morphine patches we will be on the A21 and A27 showing off our new banners.
We have had some more unhappy tenants of Amicus Horizon approach us yesterday and today and we are hoping to meet up with them after the weekend.
When we went to Hastings council and complained about the treatment that we were getting from Amicus Horizon Hastings council told us;
"We have no powers to make Amicus Horizon do anything"
What they meant was that they had no stomach to do anything, they are good at forcing through flawed council tax prosecutions against vulnerable families but thats as far as this councils courage goes.
When we asked them for help with the terrible problems we were getting from Booker and Best they told us;
"We will pass on your concerns to Amicus Horizon"
We cannot waste £60,000 on photocopying but we will have 25,000 leaflets by the 02nd May printed for Hastings council on one side and Amicus Horizon and Booker and Best on the reverse and there will be a reminder that from the 11th November 2010 (according to law) they have 40 days to supply us with data release.

The recent article in the Hastings Observer "Cuts Green Light" http://www.hastingsobserver.co.uk/news/local-news/cuts_green_light_1_2470062
Highlights the severity of the cuts that Hastings is facing over the next few years but once again it shows that the only person within that council who seems to have any real common sense ideas on how to tackle these monetary problems is Mathew Beaver. We follow Jeremy Birch`s meandering idea`s as closely as we can and it is painful to watch him struggle to make any real sense. He seems to have one plan only and that is to blame all of the towns problems upon cuts, tory government etc etc but none of his ravings make any sense because most people realise that Hastings has`nt even begun to feel the force of these cuts yet, Hastings suffering is caused by dreadful leadership and massive waste that our council refuses to change. Jeremy Birch promises to cut the £300,000 printing bill by 10% wow! that makes a saving of £30,000 but what about the £250,000 he put aside for the pier which he now says could cost £1,000,000.
We do not just pursue our complaints against Jeremy Birch because he is a councillor who we want to blame for the poverty plague that is destroying families in our community, we know Jeremy Birch we have had dealings with him on several occasions and he is probably the biggest danger that this town has to cope with, he is incapable of dealing with the problems that Hastings people must face up to and every day he is in control our town bleeds, our services weaken. At the next election forget politics, ignore labour, ignore conservatives and vote according to your good common sense, if you do that we will end up with a competent council and it will no difference to you which party they belong to the important thing is that they will benefit Hastings.
On our estate Jeremy Birch is known as Jeremy Bitch because of his subservient relationship with Amicus Horizon, one thing everybody learned here and on several other estates is that he has never kept his word to any of us, there will be no real hope for Hastings future until he has gone.

We recieved a letter today from Hastings Borough Councils fake council tax department giving us 5 days to pay the debt that we do not owe or they will instruct their bailiffs to steal our belongings or ask the court to send us to prison. This must surely make some of you ashamed of your council? it should! We will not be put off by this or anything else that they do. All they are achieving is to show what cheats and bullies they are. The High court rejected my application for a Judicial review the last time because Hastings Councl illegally withheld documents that the court required and Hastings council continue to refuse to release this information. I will apply for a Judicial review for this latest injustice but they will continue to get away with this sort of treatment all of the time Amicus Horizon controls the council and the council controls the magistrates court.What a cowardly council we have and they think this is winning. I would rather lose an honest fight than treat families in this way.

A straight Question to a Questionable Council.If Hastings Borough Council are so confident that their false accusations and fake evidence would stand up to a fair trial why don`t they have the guts or the honesty to allow one?Why do they continue to withhold information?Hastings Council do not dare allow us proper representation in court.Hastings Council do not dare go to a high court?Hastings council need to shut us up because they do not want you knowing what they have been doing and even more important what they have not been doing.

Z.L. If they have invented a bill that you aren't liable for, you are innocent!, CAB isn't backrupt yet they have access to legal advisors, If councill refusing to release evidence that will prove you are innocent then media should be informed as that is corrupt :-(
F.B. i'm so sorry graeme. i know from bitter ongoing personal experience how hard it is to live in appalling housing, how it drains you, stresses you, makes you ill. then on top of that you have to engage in some ridiculous david and goliath battle - when all you really want is a safe and dry home to sleep in. i think you're amazing, and i know you're gonna have the energy to get this sorted - though i despise the system that puts people through this, just to get decent treatment and a basic liveable home. xf

After thinking about the comments I have had I think I will put the remainder of our music gear up on ebay tomorrow and pay the fake debt, it will make me better placed to carry on our fight against these bullies. It will mean no more free guitar lessons to my friends but we`ll just have to work to get that going again in the future and this weekend I will make a "Jeremy Birch" video and post it on youtube let the locals and everyone else know what this guy is really like. I`ll post it up here on sunday night and hope you guys will share it around and thanks again to everyone for commenting support on here is definitely better quality than Hastings Adult Social Care lol

Feeling much better today so we will be out and about this afternoon with the banners.We have still had no response from Hastings council or Amicus Horizon regarding adaptations. They instructed us to empty our rooms in November 2010 (on tape) and even came back a month later and had a look and said "these rooms are empty enough" nearly four months, they are not disorganised, just spiteful.Join us on the 02nd May 2011 and help us stamp this out. It is`nt just us it is any disabled or vulnerable resident that dares to complain about Amicus Horizon Housing Association or Hastings council. Its not right you know that it is`nt don`t let it happen

#imay #onereddrop We wasted nearly three hours attempting to deliver a letter to Hastings Borough Council today. All we have asked for is fairness but whether or not councils should be fair there really is no need for their rudeness. Hastings Town Hall staff so offensive and the plush interior of their offices is an offence to the eyes if you spend any time at all visiting local disabled homes who have had domestic supplies disconnected or suffered deliberate damage. The luxury of this building cannot be justified especially at a time where hospitals and much needed social services and benefits are being cut so savagely. Hastings Town hall staff were very brusque and refused to accept our completed council forms they redirected us to Aquila House after implying that the person who directed us to them was stupid. At Aquila house they again refused to accept the forms in the end I walked away leaving it with their council staff, we videotaped both attempts. We will not give up.

Why is it that Amicus Horizon do not get warnings for disconnecting Gas - Water - Electricity to disabled tenants or for deliberately destroying their homes?
THE council has been accused of turning allotments into "work camps" because of the way they enforce their rules.Figures released this week showed that since December 2007, Hastings Borough Council (HBC) has issued 515 warnings telling tenants they are not tending to their plots properly - an average of about one every other working day.
HBC says it has a duty to enforce the rules but Michael Rock, who is embroiled in a legal battle with HBC to stop him being evicted from his plot, says the figures are very revealing.

#imay #onereddrop We have had quite a few messages regarding Amicus Horizons - Booker and Best Ltd - Hastings councils propaganda attempts on youtube - facebook - twitter. It is all very well seeing inspection reports on facebook, makes everything look very respectable, safe and nice but listen to Tim and Brenda`s story it is horrific. Read Robert and Rachels story it is unbelieveable that it happened in the United Kingdom and look at the video below because that is the true face of Amicus Horizon. Booker and Best Ltd. Hastings Borough Council.
Whichever way you look at it it just is`nt funny
