I,ll go first to start things off and get the page up and running but please remember that you are responsible for your own postings. You can post pictures and/or video footage here but please keep it free from any bad language because this site needs to stay accessible to all ages and all religions. We will delete any offensive postings and please keep your postings accurate and true for instance if a builder has done work in your home but made a mistake or done something accidentally then say so because sometimes things just go wrong but most good builders are willing to put things right.

Booker and Best recently installed a door at our home on behalf of Amicus Horizon housing association you can click on the video on the right to see what a shabby disastrous job it was. It is scruffy, dangerous and useless and I am very unhappy with Booker and Best because it is such a bodged up cowboy piece of work but having said that Booker and Best were acting on the instructions of Amicus Horizon and this was not the first time thay Booker and Best have done work in our home. On at least three previous occasions Booker and Best have done repairs and there has been no problem they did their work quickly and to a good standard but those were all heating jobs. The recent disaster was a carpentry job.
If I was a private customer I might still use Booker and Best but I can`t help having the opinion that because their prices are fixed for each job by Amicus Horizon this might have an effect on quality. Can Booker and Best afford to employ carpenters at the rates that are paid? I doubt it but Booker and Best are still badly at fault because they made my home unsafe and they still describe their workmen as "Qualified Carpenters" even though as you can clearly see they are not.

Booker and Best Hastings

Booker and Best came out to fix a perforated pipe at our house on the 24th May 2009 because it was a bank holiday they said that they could not do any repairs they could only make it safe. They did not return to fix that pipe until the 05th June 2009 so the water that had gathered continued to do damage which totalled more than £5,000 by the time the pipe was actually repaired plus we are left with a lot of redecorating on our hands. For the period between the 24th may and the 05th June we had no water no toilets. Booker and Best accuses Amicus horizon of cancelling the job but Amicus Horizon accuse Booker and Best of not reporting it but as I reported it myself to Amicus Horizon three times a day throughout that period I know that Amicus Horizon were aware. I`m not very satisfied with any of this but it is now the 11thy August 2009 so when they finish these repairs I`ll be a bit happier.

I have had a lot of work done on my home in filsham over the years. I have never used Booker and Best because they were to expensive but cheapest often ends up as most expensive because of the lack of quality. The best builder that we ever used was Bexhill builders after we suffered a lot of storm damage they were very quick and efficient and I still use them now.
