£37 MILLION OF NEW BUSINESS FOR MORRISON
Social housing repairs and maintenance provider Morrison has announced the successful award of a further £37 million of new contracts with options to increase that to £63 million. This latest announcement, made at Morrison's annual conference in Norwich, brings the total value of new business won over the last year to £198 million.Guy Wakeley, Chief Executive of Morrison, said: "The opportunity for new business in the social housing sector has never been stronger and this year we have already secured 12 new partnership agreements, the majority of which are with new clients. In each case we have been able to provide reductions in core service costs along with improved outcomes for residents, delivered through a model that commits to sustainable local employment. "We continue to see new business opportunities coming onto the market and have a healthy bid pipeline in place for the remainder of the year. I am confident that this situation will continue into next year and that we will be able to announce further contract wins in the coming months."
Two of the new contracts secured by Morrison are based in London and the South East where Morrison has a growing presence with 13 partnership agreements now in place. The first of the new London contracts is with One Housing for the provision of responsive repairs, voids services, Decent Homes work and planned maintenance work to the housing association's properties in Camden, Islington, Westminster, Barnet, Edgware, Enfield and Kingston upon Thames. The contract is valued at £18 million over five years, with an option to extend it for a further one year. The second new London based partnership, subject to normal completion agreements, is with AmicusHorizon for the provision of repairs, maintenance and voids services to its properties in London, the South and South East. The contract is valued at £19 million over five years, with an option to extend it for a further three years. In the North West, Morrison has also secured a framework contract with Salford City Council for the provision of aids and adaptations. The four-year partnership agreement is valued at £800,000 and builds on Morrison's existing presence in Greater Manchester. Morrison has also been selected for a new framework agreement operated by GM Procure, which will enable Morison to bid for repairs and maintenance contracts in the North West over the next three years. This is the first repairs and maintenance framework in the UK.EndsNotes to editors:Morrison is a leading provider of repairs, maintenance and capital projects for councils, housing associations, arms length management organisations (ALMOs) and PFI contracts.Morrison looks after over 400,000 homes and 4,000 public buildings nationwide on behalf of its clients, employing over 3,000 people in 26 locations.www.morrisonplc.com
