This is the reward for tenant involvement. Tim was trying to help Daphne a 77 year old Amicus Horizon tenant, we also tried to assist her but tenants supporting each other through difficult situations is not welcomed by Amicus Horizon.
F.A.O D BING HOLLINGTON HOUSING OFFICER
Dear Mr Bing
We understand from Ms L Anderson (area manager) in writing that your our area housings officer, we don't know what your role entails but we were informed on Tuesday 05.10.10 by Booker & Best manager of plumber's that our housing;s officer that our cold water butt is not to be removed from the airing cupboard to the loft space, we are also informed that A/H have been putting water butt's in the loft space in pitched roof;s, our pitched roof was done 50 months ago.
On Wednesday 06.10.10 a member of A/H from the watch-oak Battle visited our home with an electrician from Booker & Best, also present was a Booker & Best Plumber who was replacing our hot water tank your colleague from the watch-oak informed myself that you have no authority to deny or agree to works in the home of tenants. Only a tenhnical officer can do this.
Your colleague from the watch-oak and Booker & Best the electrician were unable to carry out the inspection on the electoral up grade on our home as they had not been completed, and he verbally gave the go ahead that all single power points could be doubled and an electrician would be around shortly to carry out these works, when i rang Booker & Best and spoke to the manager of electricians he said that he is waiting for our housing officer to give the OK, he told me this on to separate occasions. Again is this not up to the technical officer and not yourself.
I would of told you this yesterday, but you all but man handled me out of the offices in Kennedy Court, for the record i was only there in support of a fellow disabled tenant, as she did not agree with Ms Kings verbal recommendation's, i also dropped off a letter for her which Ms king had claimed that she had not received by fax.

The house in the picture on the left belongs to Tim and Brenda long suffering tenants of Amicus Horizon housing, this is a Booker and Best Ltd repair. Tim called Amicus Horizon to tell them that his hot water cylinder was leaking one night last week. Amicus Horizon did what they do so often to disabled tenants and gave him instructions on what "he" should do but of course he could`nt, he was told it would be quite a long wait for a repair so he came to us and I passed on his repair request to an Amicus Director who very kindly arranged for Booker and Best to visit. Magically a new hot water cylinder somehow materialised and Booker and Best Ltd came out and installed it, the overflow pictured above was running for fourteen hours following the repairs and of course there was other damage to the inside of Tim`s home. The quality of these repairs is far below what should be acceptable by any responsible landlord who most of the time don`t even seem to care that they are not getting what they are paying for, Tim will have to be careful how he proceeds with his complaints as he is being threatened with being labelled as a vexatious complainant but as far as this repair is concerned he is clearly in the right.
